CBE offers EGP 62bn debt instruments on Monday

Cairo - Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) auctioned treasury bills (T-bills) at a total value of EGP 60 billion through two tranches on Monday, 29 January 2024.

The first offering stood at EGP 40 billion, holding a tenor of 91 days until 30 April this year, according to official data.

Meanwhile, the second tranche was valued at EGP 20 billion, with a 273-day maturity period until 29 October 2024.

The financial authority issued fixed treasury bonds (T-bonds) through one auction at an amount of EGP 2 billion, which will mature in three years on 30 January 2027.

Earlier this week, on 28 January, the CBE unveiled T-bills worth EGP 70 billion through two offerings.
